Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, on Monday, 23rd October empowered Enugu State women and Youth with Agro-Processing Machines and agro inputs.
In an event anchored by Enugu State Agricultural Development Programmme, 15 Profiled Beneficiaries in agro processing and 60 Beneficiaries in agro inputs like fertilizer and herbicide were also conducted across the States of the federation, especially in South East, South South, and South West.
According to Mr Samuel Jaja, a supervisors for the Empowerment in Enugu, the Beneficiaries were selected from those that participated in the training organized by the Ministry in collaboration with Enugu State Agricultural Development Programme earlier in the year.
He urged the Beneficiaries to make proper use of the Empowerments to increase their Agricultural production and contribute to the national economy. He said many Empowerments in tomatoes,maize, and cassava will be organized soon for Youth and women farmers.
The Enugu State Coordinator of Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr.Peter Nwaogor, in the message he delivered on behalf of the Minister, reiterated the importance of Agricultural Development, food security, and national economy. He told the Beneficiaries not to sell the inputs but to use it to improve their economic lives. He said Federal Government knows the plight of rhe farmers and wishes to empower them through extension services.
