The Face of Hope Foundation is launching a pageant for children aged 5-12 tagged “Face of Hope”.a statement Tuesday said the is scheduled to hold August 23, at the Nicon Luxury hotel, Abuja. A charity foundation of Grazee Stitches, an Abuja-based fashion line known for simple but stylish male, female and kid’s designs, aims to inculcate in the younger generation the act of giving, most especially on helping the less privileged and also to promote Nigeria’s beautiful culture, behaviour, cuisine, language and lifestyle to the wider world in a very entertaining environment.
Creative Director and CEO of Grazee Stitches and Collectibles, Miss Grace Ibironke Ojo said that the pageant was needful to curb western influence on Nigerian children who know little or nothing of the rich, diverse culture of Nigeria.
“Since Nigerian fashion is highly trendy and revolutionary, we find the latest designs and redesigns of styles and fashions waiting to be displayed. Our children need to imbibe this culture as against the overwhelming influence of the West by appreciating our uniqueness.
“Not only that, our children will be taught on promoting our behaviour, norms, values, food, etc in a more entertaining environment. The final event is a night of splendour, culture an exhibition of intellectual capabilities of young and promising kids.
“Little Queen of Hope and Little King of Hope” will be crowned out of the participating delegates to represent other kids in giving back to the society. The main event was preceded by an audition that selected finalist who are groomed to be an ambassador.
“Face of Hope is primarily an advocacy programmme. The little Queen and little King will engage student groups, focusing on encouraging other kids to take more interest in helping the less privilege, as well as encourage their parents to do same” she explained.
She also added that , the idea behind the pageant is just to give back to society as they have been into charity for some years now.“Our major aim is to give back to the society and to inculcate in our kids the spirit and nature of giving at an early age as God’s love is spread through showing love to the less privileged” she said.
This maiden edition will include the following outfits: sports, evening outfits, casuals and traditional outfit all with African touch aside the sport wear.During the event, there would be exhibitions of designs by participating designers for sale. Certain percentage of proceed will be giving to charity.
The grand finale of the event is scheduled to take place on 23rd of August at Nicon Luxury. Red carpet; 4pm and main event for at 5pm. Winner of Project fame season 5; Ayobami Ayoola, Peter Rufia,Wiliwili of Wazobia FM, Dr Ayuba, Nick B, Tope Sax and Moralmore will be featuring at the event.
