Chairman of the Rosehill Group, Suleiman Yahyah has said that the death of Dr. Rilwan Lukman was a monumental loss to Nigeria, while describing him as a visionary leader.
He said the two-time petroleum minister lived a life of principle and service to his fatherland worthy of emulation.
The deceased, he said, was chairman Advisory Board of Asokoro Island Limited (AIL), a real estate and infrastructure development company founded by Mr. Yahyah’s Rosehill Group.
“He was highly principled, abhorred corruption and the defender of the interest of Nigerians,” he said.
The statement released from his media office said Dr. Rilwan would be remembered as the architect of the original Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).
The statement said the Group will miss the statesman’s wise counsel which he often gave freely as chairman of the Advisory Board of AIL.
Mr. Yahyah prayed for the repose of his soul while wishing the family and Nigerians the fortitude to bear the monumental loss.
Dr. Rilwan, who was former OPEC Secretary General, died Sunday night at a hospital in Austria after an illness.
