Senate, at its plenary on Wednesday, confirmed President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominees for appointment as commissioners for the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC.
Those confirmed are Dr. Yusuf Ali (North Central), Engr. Chidi Ike (South East), Mr. Nathan Shatti (North East) and Mr. Dafe Akpeneye (South South).
Senator Abdullahi, Yahaya Abubakar Senate Leader moved the motion for the Senate to consider the request of President Buhari on the confirmation of the nomination of the above persons for appointment as Commissioners for the NERC.
The President said the nomination of the officers was in accordance with Section 34 of the Electricity Power Sector Reform Act.
