The Chairman of Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Niger State, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has described the late Etsu Agaie, Alhaji Muhammadu
Kudu Abubakar Ubandoma III as a man of peace and a rare patriot, calling his death a great loss to the people of his domain, Niger State and Nigeria.
A condolence message signed by Governor Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo said Etsu Kudu’s ten years on the throne brought tremendous progress and modernization
to Agaie Emirate.
Governor Aliyu said since 2004 when Etsu Kudu – a man of peace and a rare patriot, mounted the throne of his forefathers, the monarch has been playing a leading role in ensuring peace, unity and tolerance amongst the diverse tendencies that cohabit in his domain and even beyond.
Governor Aliyu noted that since the Emir’s coronation in April 2004, violence, whether sectarian or otherwise, was a rare occurrence in his domain.
The statement said the late Etsu Kudu’s informed contributions to the Niger State Council of
Traditional Rulers have helped to touch the lives of many in a positive way.
Governor Aliyu said the late Emir’s exemplary life of selfless service lived with uncommon humility and absolute faith in God, is worthy of emulation by all.
He prayed God to grant the soul of the departed Aljannah Firdaus and members of the bereaved family and Agaie Emirate Council the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Emir Kudu III died of a kidney related ailment in the early hours of Sunday at a private hospital in Abuja at the age of 52 years.
Muhammadu Kudu III was appointed Etsu Agaie on 30th April 2004.He was the son of the
10th Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Ubandoma.
He earned a Higher Diploma in Animal Health and Husbandry and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He was the Grand Patron of the Nuhu Lafarma Education Foundation, which promotes Education in Agaie Emirate.
