(Breaking News,Nigerian News,Sports News)The lingering tenure elongation crisis pitting Nigeria Premier League club owners against the League Management Committee took a new twist today, as the club owners walked out on the Nduka Irabor- led LMC during a meeting held at WestPoint Hotel, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja.
The club chairmen who addressed Journalists after their action said the time of the Irabor led LMC was over. They insisted the LMC should keep to the terms of reference given to them by NFF during their inauguration, which called for reconstitution of elected board members at the end of the 2012-13 season.
However, in a communiqué read by the Chairman of Nasarawa United, Barr. Isaac Dalandi on behalf of the twenty four (24) club chairmen; they thanked the LMC chairman and his committee members for their efforts in organizing the just concluded league as well as their several innovations in the league.
They also ordered the LMC to hand over the secretariat to the league which will to liaise with the present club owners executive pending the election of the substantive board in line with relevant statutes governing football globally as stipulated in FIFA standard electoral codes and as affirmed by NFF in their letter to FIFA.
They also congratulated the winners of 2012-13 league season, Kano Pillars and urged the outgoing LMC to liaise with Pillars FC to ensure a quick presentation of the trophy.
