The Speaker,Adamawa State House of Assembly,Hon.Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri had during the week-end, condoled and commiserated with the people of Pitiku village in Madagali local government area over last Wednesday’s attack by the yet to be identified gunmen.He described the attack as barbaric, unreligious and unislamic.
It could be recalled that last week, some gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect, numbering about fifty in the wee hours of Wednesday attacked and ransacked Pitiku village during which lives were lost and the attackers equally carted away money, motorbikes and other valuables belonging to the villagers.

House of Assembly Hon. Umaru Fintiri.
Fintiri who doled-out some money for those injured,also said that government was very much concerned of their plight as what happened to them has not only affected the people of the state but the country at large and assured that everything would be done within the powers of the state government to ameliorate their plight.
The Speaker further appealed to the people to unite and cooperate with one another for the overall development of the area and the state as a whole while commending the people for not fleeing their homes because of the activities of Boko Haram insurgents.
Also commenting, the state commissioner for Border Integration, Alh.Hamza Bello said that already,the state government has constituted an adhoc response committee being chaired by him to assist the affected communities, announcing that assistance will soon be distributed to them through a committee that will comprise people of the area to handle the distribution of the items, among others.
Bello revealed also that government is poised to provide the area with basic social amenities but emphasized the need for the people to support government for more developmental programmes.
Responding, on behalf of the villagers Baba Waliyya, whose son was among those massacred revealed that, “ The entire town was completely enveloped by stampede.
“They came in the early hours attacking houses of notable personalities, slaughtering people like animals,’’ he recalled.
The Octogenarian commended the speaker for the concern and assistance rendered to them as according to him, “ this is the first time, government official is visiting to commiserate with us,’’ he said.
