The Nigeria Union of Journalists, FCT Council, has hailed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Sen. Bala Mohammed, over his recent elevation of Messrs Nosike Ogbuenyi and Hajiya Jamila Tangaza.
The council in a statement by its chairman, Comrade Chuks Ehirim, said the elevation of the duo was a testimony of the minister’s recognition of hard work, diligence, loyalty and professionalism of both persons and confidence in their capability to deliver on the transformation agenda of the present administration.
Ehirim described Ogbuenyi’s appointment as the new senior special assistant on information management system as a worthy replacement for Tangaza who now heads the Abuja Geographic Information System, noting that Ogbuenyi’s elevation did not come as a surprise given his professional depth, dedication and long standing loyalty to the minister.
He also described Tangaza as an international broadcaster whose administrative capability came to bear during her stint with the Minister as senior special assistant on information management system .This qualifies her for the elevation to head AGIS as the General Manager,Ehirim said , while calling on the duo to justify the confidence reposed on them by the Minister.
The NUJ chairman expressed the hope that the new appointments will go a long way in helping the minister realize his objective of re-positioning the FCT for the better.
He challenged the new appointees to see their new positions as another opportunity to contribute their quota to the development of the FCT.
