Sportswriters under the aegis of Sportswriters Association of Nigeria,SWAN will this month converge in Makurdi, the Benue State capital to elect a new national exco that will take charge of their association .
The chairman of the FCT chapter of the body, Kayode Adeniyi made the disclosure on Thursday at the FCT SWAN Congress held at the FCT NUJ secretariat.
He noted that, the national secretariat of the association has formally informed the FCT chapter, noting that the national elections would be conducted between the 28-30 of March, in Markurdi.
He debunked the insinuations making rounds that the election has been postponed indefinitely.
A frontline contender for the post of national secretary general of the association, Wale Alabi told Newsdiaryonline that, the election date remains intact.
It could be recalled that the election which was earlier slated for the first week in January 2013 witnessed a shift allegedly propelled by political intrigues..
