Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Tarabe State, Mr Victor Bala Kona on Friday debunked media reports that the Governor Danbaba Suntai suffered brain damage from the October 25th 2012, plane crash in Yola.
Kona said this at a World Press conference held in Abuja to clear the air on the rumour surrounding Governor Suntai’s state of health which has been reported to be include brain damage and spinal cord injuries.
According to Kona, Suntai needs time to recover from the fatal air crash he survived as the German doctors who are managing him in the private apartment through the necessary physiotherapy that would make him recuperate.
He dismissed the possibility of the governor being removed on ground of incapacitation as the speaker who is expected to constitute the 5 man medical team for such action was with the governor in his private apartment in Germany where he is being treated.
Kona said that those who expected the governor to have recovered so soon are making a super-human out of him especially as the man survived an air crash which has been globally described as a miracle.
His words: “Contrary to all negative comments in some quarters, the governor did not sustain any brain injuries or spinal cord injuries. He is not partially paralyzed. Rather, he is in full sense and the right frame of mind. He speaks, eats and does all the normal things every agile, strong person can do.
“Gentlemen of the press, this Governor survived an air crash. And is the process must take its course. Those expecting him to recover overnight are only trying to make him superhuman and are not being honest.
“He is human and surviving an air crash is no child’s play. He needs time to go through the current stage of physiotherapy he is vigorously doing,” the state PDP Chairman said, adding that the German Doctors would soon announce his return upon his full recovery.
