The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Niger state, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko has promised unemployed graduates N20,000 monthly stipend if elected.
This, he said would reduce youth restiveness, crime and other social vices in the state.
Nasko made this promise in Suleja over the weekend at the zonal Gubernatorial campaign flag off.
He said that the the APC administration in the state has failed in addressing the problems regarding the youths saying, “despite the huge resources that has accrued to the state, the neglect of the youths is one of the greatest failure of the APC in the state.”
He promised that the N20,000 stipend will be paid to all registered graduates in the state to enable them to keep the “body and soul together”.
The Governorship Hopeful further pledged to re-introduce the free education policy at both primary and secondary levels in the state which was abolished the present administration in 2016 frowning at the dichotomy payment of school fees at the state own tertiary institutions and the abolition of payment of both WAEC and NECO examination fees for non indigents students
He condemned the APC administration in the state for the abolition of free education policy of PDP administration at both primary and secondary, stressing that “that singular decision has taken the development of education in the state backward for 10 years”.
