#TrackNigeria: Some elders in Bauchi state, under the aegis of ‘Bauchi State Elders Advisory Committee’ on Tuesday frowned at the actions of some politicians who had formed a coalition to unseat Gov. Mohammed Abubakar.

Addressing a press conference in Bauchi, chairman of the committee, Alhaji Yerima Giade, said that 21 aggrieved politicians could not decide for over two million eligible voters in the state.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that two days ago, leaders of six political parties in the state announced that they had formed a common front to unseat Gov. Muhammed Abubakar of the state in the forthcoming elections.

Giade, a former chairman, Board of Directors of Ashaka Cement, Gombe, described the move by the parties to unseat Abubakar as a “joke.”

” These people are speaking from the two sides of their mouths because some are aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who contested with Abubakar during the party’s primaries but lost.

“I want to remind them that what the governor has done in the last three years is enough for the electorate to judge,” he said.

Giade warned the electorate to be wary of pronouncements of these politicians that were so inciting and capable of causing chaos in the state.

“Any attempt by these politicians to go to the extent of inciting people, will not be acceptable, by any standard, to us as civilised people.

” This is because if violence erupts, we are the ones to suffer and pay the price; our politicians must therefore try to eschew violence and inciting statements, ” the chairman said. (NAN)
