Bala explained  that members of the University Christian community had  made substantial contributions to the progress and development of the University.‎

” I want to thank  the Christian community for presenting a  copy of the Holy Bible to me and I am assuring them I will not fail them.

“I am full of gratitude to the community for praying and fasting for the peaceful, smooth transition of another era in the university.

“Many members of this community prayed and had a fast that  somebody from within the university be made the VC and God has granted us that wish.

“We have to make best use of this opportunity to tell the world that the university has come of age;  we do not need people from outside to superintend over us as VC; we have the human resources  here,” he said.

Bala promised to justify the confidence the university  reposed on him and would be fair to all.‎

“We must work in concert to take the university to greater height for a better Nigeria,” he said.‎

Dr. Mathew Kolo, Chairman, Religious Matters, expressed appreciation to the University managemet for supporting the various religious bodies on campus.

“We thank you, particularly in the construction of worship places, while we solicit for further financial support,” said.‎

“I urge you to  read Second Chronicle chapter 1: 6-12 and the book of Jeremiah chapter 9; verse 23-24 for spiritual insight on how to move the institution forward,” he said.‎
