The National Pension Commission (PenCom) on Wednesday said it received a delegation from the Uganda Retirements Benefits Regulatory Authority (URBRA) for four days training on Nigeria’s pension system.

A statement by the Head, Corporate Communication, Mr Peter Aghahowa in Abuja on Wednesday, stated that the delegate comprised Chairman of URBRA, Mr Andrew Kasiriy.

Others are Mrs Rita Nansasi Waswa, Secretary to the Board and Mrs Daisy Linda Nabakoosa.

“The four-day visit will avail the delegates’ insights to Nigeria’s pension system with particular interest on the Commission’s model of the Micro Pension Plan for the informal sector,’’ PenCom said.

Mr Kasiriye, while commending PenCom for its landmark achievements, said that Ugandan Pension Regulatory body was looking forward to introducing micro pension to the informal sector in Uganda.

“This is the major reason, among others, we are here,” Kasiriye said.

“During the visit, the URBRA delegates will review several aspects of the Nigerian pension system, including the deployment of Information and Communication Technology for the pension schemes.’’(NAN)
