A high powered delegation of senior government officials from Nigeria will attend this year’s Water Technology and Environmental ControlExhibition & Conference slated to hold in Israel from 12 to 14 September, 2017. The Permanent Secretaryof the Federal Ministry of WaterResources, Dr. Ibrahim Musa will lead the 40-member delegation.
Addressing the delegation during a mini exhibition at the Ministry of Water Resources in Abuja on Thursday, Ambassador of Israel to Nigeria, Mr. Guy Feldman in company of the Minister, Engr Suleiman Adamu, said Israel and Nigeria have a lot to share in terms water management. He disclosed that Israel is 60% desert, but with high technology, it is today pumping over 80% of its waste water back to the sea, while losing only two percent.
Speaking, the minister commended the Ambassador for taking the initiative to address and sensitize the delegates before their departure to Israel saying that it was unprecedented. He said although Nigeria is blessed with abundant water resources, it can still learn a lot from Israel’s new technology in water management. The minister said he would have been on the delegation to Israel, but for other pressing official functions he had assigned the permanent secretary to lead the delegation.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary and leader of delegation, had commended Israel for inviting Nigeria to participate in the high profile conference stressing this would open up new opportunities for Nigeria start its own training program back home.
