The Kaduna State House of Assembly has elected the member representing Sabon Gari Constituency, Mr Aminu Shagali, as Speaker.
The election of Shagali came after the inauguration of the 8th Assembly by Clerk of the House, Mrs Umma Aliyu Hikima on Monday, following a directive from Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
Consequently, Hon. Gwarzo John Audu also emerged as Deputy Speaker of the House which comprises 27 All Progressives Congress (APC) members and six members from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In his post-inaugural address, Shagali pledged to sustain the confidence reposed in him by members and also work assiduously to make laws for good governance of Kaduna State.
Born on February 13, 1980, Shagali holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Doctorate Degree in Rural Development from the University of Bakhtalruda, Sudan.
Shagali has represented the Sabon Gari constituency at the House since 2011.
He had held several positions including, Deputy Minority Leader and Chairman, House Committee on Science and Technology; Deputy Chairman,House committee on Hajj and Islamic affairs as well as Deputy Chairman House Committee on Economic Planning.
