Professor Julius Ihonvbere has sounded a note of warning to the members of the people democratic party, PDP, planning to rig the forth coming election in the state to have a rethink as they will be roasted if they dare.
While addressing a mammoth crowd at Sabogidda-Ora, the professor of political economy gave this warning at a well attended rally of Action Congress of Nigeria organized in honour of the charismatic activist turned politician.
Professor Ihonvbere who was flanked by the party leaders at the rally by several admirers such as Hon. Pally Iriase, the honourable member representing the two local governments at the Federal House of Representative, the state former deputy governor Rev. Peter Obadan, the two party chairmen from the two local governments, a founding member of ACN Mr. Tunde Ikhidero among others said he joined the party to work and not to struggle for position. He recounted how the leadership of the PDP mounted relentless pressure on him not to move to the ACN and how President Goodluck Jonathan spoke to him not to dump the party.
Hon. Iriase said that the two Owan local governments have decided to blaze the train by bringing back the best from the PDP to come and help to develop the area. According to Hon. Iriase, ‘’Action Congress of Nigeria in the National Assembly is the soul of rectitude and truthfulness at the Federal House of Representatives’’. He said the ACN which started with just one state has increased its exploit into six states and still counting.
Professor Ihonvbere on the occasion donated one million naira and a coaster bus to the party while Hon. Pally Iriase donated five hundred thousand naira to the party.
