The Yobe office of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) has organised a workshop to enhance the investigation techniques and evidence gathering skills of its officers.
Mr Mohammed Aliyu, the Director of Investigation, Yobe State Office of the Commission, stated this while briefing newsmen in Damaturu on Tuesday.
He said that the workshop was aimed at repositioning the experience of staff and to better equip them to handle their day-to-day official activities and investigations.
Aliyu explained that the training, attended by 33 staff member, focused on improving knowledge and skills in handling complaints and investigations.
He added that the management would ensure the acquired knowledge is put into practice by the participants.
Aliyu expressed optimism that the training would enhance the staff’s ability to handle various tasks and assignments effectively.
“The workshop is a significant step towards enhancing the commission’s investigative capabilities and improving service delivery,” he said.
Mr Attahiru Adamu, Head of Planning, Research, and Statistics, PCC Yobe said the training was a groundbreaking initiative, being the first of its kind in a decade.
He highlighted the significance of experience in investigations and encouraged newly employed officers to leverage the knowledge gained to enhance their practical skills in the field.
Mrs Esther Daniel, the Head of Administration, PCC Yobe, said that the workshop would boost productivity in the office.
She stressed the need for continuous training and retraining, particularly in the current national context.
Daniel said she would step down the skills acquired through knowledge sharing with colleagues in order to ensure that everyone benefits from the training. (NAN)
