The Police Service Commission has disowned an online publication of an advertisement for the recruitment of Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police, (ASP) in the professional cadre, purported to emanate from the Commission.
An advert captioned; Police Service Commission invites applicants for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet ASP” and “Nigeria Police Force ASP Recruitment of ICT Professionals into the Nigeria Police Force” listed several vacant positions in the professional Cadre of the Nigeria Police Force where interested applicants were invited to apply for.
A statement by Ikechukwu Ani,head, press and public relations “the said publication did not originate from its (PSC) office and that it is not presently recruiting such categories of Police Officers. It also wishes to advise the public to discountenance the said publication as it is obviously an attempt by some fraudulent people to extort unsuspecting Nigerians.
Ani further stated that “The Commission is currently investigating the source of the advertisement and will deal decisively with any person or group of persons found to be behind this unwholesome act. It is also appealing to the media, whether broadcast, print (hardcopy) or online, to cross check such copies before publication.
“The Commission will continue to use its established channels of communication in the dissemination of its activities and programmes.
