The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recalled the suspended president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Isa Ayo Salami, after a tense meeting in Abuja today.
Today’s election favoured Justice Salami with 10 votes while 8 members of the body voted against him.
It would be recalled that Justice Salami was suspended by the NJC last August but a 29-member Judicial Reform Committee set up by the CJN, Justice Dahiru Musdapher, on October 14 recommended his reinstatement.
A sub-committee of the panel, which includes Justice Mamman Nasir, Justice U. Kalgo and Justice Bola Ajibola, asked the CJN and the NJC to reinstate Salami.
The committee upheld the decisions of the sub-committee and recommended Salami’s reinstatement.
