Matrix Energy Ltd., a major player in the oil industry, would commence the sale of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to consumers in Warri and environs in December.

Its Chief Operation Officer, Mr Luqman Salam-Alada, disclosed this on Tuesday when members of the Nigerian Association of LPG Marketers (NALPGAM) visited the company in Warri.

Salam-Alada, who led other staff of the company on behalf of the Managing Director, Alhaji Abdukabir Aliu to receive the visitors, said the idea was to make the product available, accessible and affordable to consumers.

He also led the visitors to inspect the two storage tanks of 2500 capacity each, said that measures had been put in place to ensure regular products.

“We will do test running very soon and hopefully by December we will commence operation.

“We have also made arrangement with four companies for product, so that we do not run out of supply,” he said.

Mrs Oluwatoyin Okoizi, the Chief Marketing Officer of the company, said the company had taken delivery of 17 LPG trucks and was expecting an additional 30 trucks before the end of December to boost operation.

Responding, the National President of NALPGAM, Mr Nosa Ogieva-Okunbor, commended Matrix Energy for the massive investment.
Ogieva-Okunbor said the gesture would help boost LPG business in the country.

“It is great that a Nigeria entrepreneur is building such a massive depot of 5000 metric tons. This will help in deepening the LPG usage in the country,” he said.

Ogieva-Okunbor appealed to the federal government to provide the basic assistance to enable the LPG industry grow noting that the target of the association was to have one million metric tons in the shortest period. (NAN)
