He recalled late Ashiru’s giant exploits in the protection and promotion of Nigeria and Nigerians’ cultural heritage in the international community.
According to Mark: “I feel sad that we lost Ambassador Ashiru . He was a professional and brilliant diplomat. He was in the fore front in the formulation, execution and promotion of our foreign policy. As a foreign Affairs Minister , he was exemplary.”
He said Nigeria would miss Ambassador Ashiru’s robust contributions to national development especially in refining the nation’s foreign policy in tandem with international best practices.
Senator Mark however added that Ambassador Ashiru left his positive foot print on the sands of time.
He therefore enjoined the federal government and people of Ogun state especially the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that the late Ambassador lived an eventful life worthy of emulation.
