Late Kutigi an illustrious jurist, embodiment of hard work – ACF

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) on Sunday described late Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi as an illustrious jurist and embodiment of hard work who contributed greatly to national unity.
This is contained in a statement issued in Kaduna by Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim-Biu, ACF National Publicity Secretary, made available to news men.
“He was an embodiment of hard work, selfless service and commitment to the unity of his father land.
“Nigeria has indeed lost one of its illustrious jurists whose contribution to the judiciary and the national discourse would forever be remembered and cherished by Nigerians.”
It added that late Kutigi was an eloquent jurist who held various positions in the legal profession and excelled to its peak as the Chief Justice of Nigeria from January 2007 to December 2009.
The ACF said as a member of its Board of Patrons, the deceased contributed immensely by his wise counsel and participation in the Forum’s activities.
“ACF extends its heartfelt condolences to late Justice Kutigi’s family, the Government and people of Niger State and Nigerians for this irreparable loss, May Allah grant his gentle soul eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus,” it stated.
Justice Kutigi, who served as Chairman of the 2014 National Conference, died on Saturday night in London hospital at the age of  79. (NAN)
