Kaduna senatorial candidate, Mr LA supports ABU students

The Kaduna Central senatorial candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, Lawal Adamu Usman (Mr LA) has promised to support the growth of Economics studies in the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
The senatorial candidate who was represented by his special media consultant Abdul-Azeez Suleiman made the pledge at the 25th annual conference of the Islamic Economics Thought Association organized by students of the Department of Economics on Monday.
Mr LA who played the role of the Chief Launcher for the Association’s Magazine, the Frontliner, stated his preparedness to support every academic activity of the University after launching the Magazine in the sum of N500,000.
Announcing the commitment on behalf of the Senatorial Candidate, Suleiman described Mr LA as a symbol of the much needed paradigm shift being the youngest contestant to the Nigerian Senate in the whole of the country.
“I have the mandate of Lawal Adamu Usman who happens to be a student in the Department of Business Administration of this University, to launch this beautiful magazine in the sum of N500,000 with a further undertaking of preparedness to support every academic activity of the University whenever the need arises,” Suleiman said.
The opening session of the conference which was chaired by His Highness, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sunusi 11, was also graced by other dignitaries that included His Highness, the Emir of Birnin Gwari, Malam Zubairu Jibrin, former Nigerian Finance Minister, Dr Shamsddeen and a high-powered delegation of the Emir of Zazzau, Dr. Shehu Idris.
The Vice Chancellor of ABU and several professors and academics from various Nigerian universities also graced the occasion in addition to hundreds of students of ABU and other institutions.
All the dignitaries at the event were unanimous in their condemnation of corruption which the said is responsible for the economic downturn of most developing nations including Nigeria.
The Vice Chancellor gave awards and souvenirs to the Emirs of Kano, Birnin Gwari and other dignitaries and declared to set up a Centre for Islamic Finance for the university.
