Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board is to commence the airlifting of 2014 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia in September.
Speaking to appointed Hajj officials in Kaduna, Overseer of the board,Alh Kabiru Kasimu said that the board is committed to protect the lives and property of the pilgrims.
He said it was the responsibility of the officials to take care of pilgrims while in the holy land and reminded them that they must tolerate intending pilgrims right from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia.
“Those appointed as officials must know the task ahead of him or her.The aim of the meeting is to familiarize and remind officials of their duties during the hajj exercise,”he said.
“We should remember the task ahead of us as officials of the board.We all know that as officials we are expected to look after our pilgrims right from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia. We should also fear Allah and be dedicated to our duties.
“Soon, we will organize another workshop or training for the state officials with the intention of achieving a hitch-free exercise in the state. Let me once again remind us that taking care of pilgrims is a big task,” he said.
Earlier,the Permanent Secretary Bureau for Religious Affairs (Islamic Matters), Alhaji Abdulrahman Mahmud commended the state governor for the support given to the board and Bureau.
Mahmud called on the officials to tolerate and cooperate with each other so as to achieve a successful Hajj.
