Malam Kadiri Edah, the newly appointed Director of the Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, has promised improved welfare and first-class services to Muslim pilgrims from the territory.
Edah, who took over from Malam Abubakar Evuti, made the promise during the maiden staff meeting after taking over as the new director of the board, on Monday in Abuja
.
He also promised hitch-free hajj operations and improved welfare for management staff of the board.
He, however, called on the management staff to show some level of commitment in handling pilgrims’ affairs and protect the image of the board and the FCT Administration (FCTA).
He also called on staff of the board to be honest and dedicated to their duties and warned against any act capable of tarnishing the image of the board and the FCTA.
He solicited the cooperation of all staff and other stakeholders to ensure the success of all hajj operations.
“All staff must be dedicated to their duties and abide by the rules and regulations of the board as the administration would not condone any act of corruption and indiscipline,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Edah is a seasoned administrator, who joined the services of the FCT Administration in 1994 and served in various departments and agencies.
He was promoted and deployed to the Secondary Education Board (SEB) as Director of Administration in 2023, the position he held until his appointment as director of FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Edah, from Kogi state, is a 1992 graduate of Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies. (NAN)
