The All progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday demanded the resignation of the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal, Alex Badeh; Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya  Zainab Maina; Youth Affairs minister, Mr. Boni Haruna and other indigenes of north east serving in the government. The demand was made  as an expression of  the party’s disappointment over President Goodluck Jonathan’s inability to  halt insecurity in the North East.APC  said the government has abandoned the region and does not give a damn about the security and safety of the people.

APC National Vice Chairman, North East, Engr. Babachir David Lawal while ddressing a press conference in  Abuja alleged that rather than protect the lives and property of the people of the zone who were being slaughtered by Boko Haram sect, the President Jonathan led federal government  have been more concerned  about his re-election bid.

“These are trying times indeed and all the good sons and daughters of the North East, whatever is their current status in the society  must stand up for region. For, if we continue to remain silent who will speak for our people? “Lawal said.

“Now that the government has abandoned the region, who will defend it other than its natives?

“Our farmlands, schools and all forms of commercial activities have been abandoned, thus rendering our future bleak. Our sons are being massacred daily while our daughters are taken into slavery or married off to depraved, uneducated and evil people who place no value on life.

“Our elders are either forcefully converted to their satanic brand of Islam or slaughtered like rams. In executing their evil and primitive brand of justice in the territories they occupy, they chop of hands and stone people to death.

“And they keep on expanding, winning territories with ease. Just within the last one week alone, towns in Gombe, Adamawa, Yobe and Borno have came under attack leading to nearly 100 deaths”.

Reeling out the names of prominent Nigerians from Mubi c serving in Jonathan’s government, the  APC chieftain said: “It is the hometown of Mr Bonie Haruna, the Minister of Youth Development; Hajia Zainab Maina, the Minister of Women Affairs; Mallam Ibrahim Lamorde, the Executive Chairman of EFCC;  Alhaji Bello Sali, the former Head of Service of the Federation, and Senator Mohammed Umar Bindo, a serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Vimtim, the home town of Alex Badeh, the Chief of Defence Staff is just under 10Km away while Major General John Zaruwa hails from Bazza also some 25Km away from Mubi.

“Pending a change of attitude by this Federal Government, I call on all political office holders from the North East serving in this government to resign en-mass with immediate effect. What are they doing serving a government that does not give a damn about the security and safety of their people?

“Who will rescue the people from the forests and the Cameroon mountains whilst its leaders are stuck in far away Abuja leaving in luxury and comfort? I would rather we all return home and find a way to assist the military recapture and defend our people and our land”.

He also addressed the failed ceasefire agreement with Boko Haram.”The ceasefire announcement and heightened military movements tricked our people into a false sense of security thus encouraging them to return to their homes just to become sitting ducks for Boko Haram a few days later.

“Last week, on sighting an advancing column of Boko Haram fighters, the solders took to their heels, leaving behind their weapons as easy pick for Boko Haram fighters.

“Eye witness accounts testify that the Boko Haram fighters came in a column of about 10 Toyota Hilux trucks and a few motor cycles. It is this rag-tag bandits that routed more than one battalion of Nigerian troops that are supported by a squadron of Air Force Jets located some 200Km away in Yola.

New IGP PORTRAIT OF IGP SULEIMAN ABBA 1Confirmation  of IGP ,A  Reward For Impunity – APC

The All Progressive Congress  has slammed the confirmation of Alhaji Suleiman Abba as a substantive Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The party said the IG  earned that after the bidding  of the Presidency and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) by removing security aides  of  Speaker, House of Representatives Hon. Aminu Tambuwal.

Alhaji Dikko Umar Radda , National Welfare Secretary of APC,  told  journalists in Abuja  that “the nation has gone back to the days of military rule, where people are rewarded for impunity”.

Denouncing the withdrawal of the Speaker’s security aides by Abba, the APC chieftain said , “the government of PDP is a government that rely on illegality. In fact what the Inspector General of Police has done for them has earned him confirmation yesterday. We are living in a country where laws are not being obey.

“I have not seen these kinds of things. These things are going on and Nigerians are not saying anything about it. They should rise up against this impunity, if nothing is done it will consume all of us because we can not say there is a different law for APC and another one for PDP.

“There were APC members that defected to PDP and they are still in the House of Reps. and nobody did anything to withdraw there privileges. It is only when somebody defects to APC that they will say the law has been violated, that is when they will quote the constitution and they will go to court”.
