Atiba University, Oyo holds 7th matriculation ceremony

Atiba University Oyo, on Friday, 31st May 24 held its 7th matriculation ceremony for freshers into its academic community.

The event, which was graced by notable dignitaries, had in attendance parents, guardians, and guests, marking a significant milestone for the institution and the new intakes.

In his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sunday Olawale Okeniyi, congratulated the new students for gaining admission into the university successfully. He equally highlighted the diversity of academic programmes and the university’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for the students.

The freshmen and women were matriculated into various faculties in the university including the Faculty of Health Sciences, Law Natural and Applied Sciences, Agriculture, Arts, Social and Management Sciences, as well as Education.
Professor Okeniyi emphasized the importance of the matriculation oath, urging the new students to adhere strictly to the university’s rules and regulations. He reminded them of the need to maintain a high academic performance and to take full advantage of the opportunities available at Atiba University Oyo.

The ceremony featured an inspiring lecture by Professor Joseph Olaseinde Afolayan, Former Vice Chancellor, of Anchor University Lagos, who spoke on the topic; “Profitability of a Balanced Education.” His presence and insightful discourse added immense value to the event, encouraging students to strive for excellence in their academic and personal lives.
The Vice Chancellor In his address, also lauded the efforts of staff, students and all concerned in the 2023/2024 academic session admission recruitment exercise. He expressed gratitude for their dedication and hard work, which contributed significantly to the university’s successful enrollment drive.
The VC further highlighted the university’s partnership with an International IT Organisation, aimed at equipping students with essential IT skills through internationally recognized certification programs. This initiative, he said underscores Atiba University’s commitment to producing globally competitive graduates.

The matriculation ceremony was concluded with a pledge from the Vice Chancellor to continue providing top-notch education and maintaining high standards of discipline and academic excellence. He assured parents and guardians that the university is dedicated to nurturing their wards into well-rounded and competent graduates. “As the new students embark on their academic journey, Atiba University Oyo reaffirms its mission to be a leading institution of higher learning, fostering intellectual growth, innovation, and ethical values”.
