APC tasks aggrieved FCT party members on unity

The All Progressive Congress (APC), Secretary for FCT, Mr Hashimu Angama has called on aggrieved members of the party that failed to secure tickets in the just concluded primary elections held across FCT to coexist.
Angama made the call during a media conference in Abuja on Saturday, to plead with all aggrieved members of the party to settle their differences and unit for the progress of democracy.
According to him, the party would not forget the dedication and loyalty of all members who stood firm and fought for the progress of the party during challenging periods.
The secretary, reiterated the party’s commitment to the Unity and Peaceful co-existence of all members and to reconcile aggrieved members that lost in the primary elections.
It could be recalled that crisis and confusion marred the House of Reps and Senatorial primary elections held recently in some parts of FCT.
Mr Adams Oshiomhole, APC National  Chairman, had on Oct. 4 after a closed door meeting, told newsmen that direct primaries for FCT Senatorial candidates was not negotiable.
According to him,  the challenges that follow the party’s recent primaries in some states of the federation are normal in a democratic society and also in a vibrant party such as the APC.
Angama, disclosed that disagreement and resistance ranged from some factions and some political stakeholders who are bent on retaining the old ways of politics, which according to him was not suitable for FCT politics.
Nonetheless, he reassured and appealed to aggrieved members to be patient with the party and cooperate with the reconciliation committee set-up to look into all areas of rancour in the party.
Speaking on the party’s plan to address youth restiveness in FCT, he assured that plans were on ground to create job opportunities for the youths to curb all sort of criminal activities in the area.
He advised FCT youths to take the advantage of the anti-corruption war by President Muhammadu Buhari led administration, to build their future on credibility, accountability and justice for all.
