The Fifth Chucker Equestrians Academy cordially invites you to come and experience the Eid El Kabir Sallah Durbar at the Palace of HRH the 18th Emir of Zazzau Alhaji Dr. Shehu Idris from 1st to 4th September 2017.
It is often the tradition of all emirate councils to celebrate each with a Durbar festival. It is in view of this that the Fifth Chukker Equestrian invites you to witness the first ever Durbar festival that will feature the Queen Amina Riders.
In the past, we have had expatriate women riders feature in the Durbar, but this time around, will also include Women Riders from Northern Nigeria.
In this regard, the Fifth Chucker Equastrian Academy has planned a series of events to commemorate the Eid Festival as well as the historic re-birth of the participation of the Queen Amina Warriors in the event.
Celebrations begin on FRIDAY 1st September in the afternoon with an Excursion to Kangimi Resort & visit to a Fulani Village.
Or an adventure Trail Ride on Horseback to Kangimi Lake, which will be followed by a bonfire BBQ Night entertainment of traditional Local Dancers.
SATURDAY 2nd September in the morning, will be departure to Zaria at 8.00am departure to the Palace of HRH the Emir of Zaria.
The Eid El Kabir Durbar celebrations begins at begins at 10 30 am, while the Fifth Chucker Equestrian Academy Expatriate Group Riders ride at 13 00 pm.
Reception follows immediately in the Heart of the Palace in the Presence of His Highness The Emir of Zazzau Alhaji Dr. Shehu Idris.
And in the afternoon, will be the right through the Heritage Path at 2.30pm, with a visit to the Palace and a lecture by the Palace Historian.
This lecture will cover the history of the Emirate, Durbar, and Enlightenment into the World of Nigerian Manufacturers of Horse Tack Leather Goods, Regalia, Attire Textile and Embroidery which the Emirate is known for.
The Fifth Chucker Queen Amina Warriors will ride on Sunday 3rd September 2017, at 10.00am.
Departure back to Fifth Chucker Polo & Country Resort as well as departure of guests heading to Kano.
This is however by invitation only.
Reception for the Kano entourage will hold in the Palace of Commons in the presence of the Emir of Kano HRH Mohammadu Sanusi II to receive the local District Rulers.
The parade of 1000 Horses that will mark this year’s Durbar from the Kano Emirate Council which begins at 10.00am on Monday 4th September 2017, Lunch, Drinks and Reception in the Palace after the Durbar follows.
