Armed Soldiers have taken over the residence of the Acting Chief Judge of the state, Justice Ambrose Mammadi, as the impeachment on Governor Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Bala Ngillari thickens.
This came amid a strong allegation that the Acting Chief Judge made the list of the seven man committee to investigate the governor and his Deputy under duress ,even at gun point.
When Journalists visited the private residence of the Acting Chief Judge located at Masakare in Jimeta, armed soldiers were seen patrolling the short street.
The Armed Soldiers in their numbers keeps away strangers, suspicious vehicles and pedestrians from the street.
Reporters also noted that the seven man investigation panel was selected and sent to the Acting Chief Judge by the House of Assembly for ratification and announcement.
Reports alleged that the Acting Chief Judge was put at gun point to receive the list of the investigation panel.
The other issue raising eyebrows over the impeachment is the composition of the committee members. It was equally alleged that the seven man committee comprises 5 Christians and 2 Muslims. There are those claiming in Adamawa this is ostensibly meant to clear the deputy governor and cage the governor. The fact on the ground is that the governor and the deputy are facing seemingly real threat of impeachment now
In the meantime, the tenure of the Acting Chief Judge expires tomorrow( Sunday the 6th July 2014) . It is further alleged that the real impeachment process typified by the inauguration of a seven man panel is scheduled for Monday the 7th July 2014.
