As results of today’s gubernatorial election trickle in, there were hints that incumbent Governor Olusegun Mimiko may have dealt a political blow to his main challenger and Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN candidate Rotimi Akeredolu as the incumbent triumphed at the ACN candidate’s ward.
According to early reports, Mimiko’s ,Labour Party scored 144 votes while Akeredolu’s ACN scored 139 votes at his Owo (Unit 6, Ward 5)
Given the recent election history in Nigeria, this is a major embarrassment to the ACN candidate, no matter how the final tally turns out ,as this defeat in his ward will always be used to taunt him by his traducers.
Reports listed the results in Akeredolu’s Polling unit in Owo (Unit 6, Ward 5) thus: ACN – 139. ACPN – 3. BNPP -2. CPC -3. PDP -35. LP – 144.
