(UPDATED) Reports from Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja said President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the service chiefs he inherited from former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Those sacked include Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh , Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minimah, Chief of Army Staff, Rear Admiral Usman jibril, Chief of Naval Staff, as well as Air Marshal Adesola Amosun.Chief of Air Staff.
As the president named new service chiefs, it also became evident that he has also relieved Colonel Sambo Dasuki(rtd) of his job as the National Security Adviser,NSA.
The sack of Jonathan’s service chiefs was not a sudden affair as the Buhari evidently took his time to interact them and possibly get appropriate briefings since his inauguration on May 29.
Femi Adesina,special adviser to the president on media and publicity said President Buhari thanked the outgoing service chiefs and the NSA.
