The Army Headquarters has disclosed that “troops of the Nigerian Army this afternoon captured Buni Yadi town the headquarters of Gujba Local Government Area and Buni Gari town both of Yobe State.
Acting Director Army Public Relations,Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman who gave this update Saturday said ,“During the operations, they encountered little resistance as the insurgents were on the run.
“Cordon and search and mopping up operations are ongoing in these areas.
“Operations by troops are also continuing to recover the few areas remaining in the hands of terrorists”, the army spokesman said .
Many Nigerians will recall a brutal attack by Boko Haram on a Buni Yadi school which killed several students.
