The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Sokoto state has described as sheer idleness and indolence, the Sokoto state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP’s) allegation that governor Aliyu Wamakko used public funds to host the zonal rally of the APC held last Monday in Sokoto.
A statement signed and issued to news men by the APC state Secretary, Aminu Bello Sokoto claimed that the accusation was sheer indolence.
“The good people of Sokoto state should consider the accusations by the PDP as a sheer idleness, indolence and hate for the progress of the APC that is poised to salvage the country from its numerous challenges,” the statement read.
It further said that the All Progressive Congress (APC) believed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had no moral authority to accuse Governor Wamakko of using state funds to host the APC Zonal Rally. “We expect the overzealous PDP to use facts and figures to buttress their laughable arguments, not just misleading stories.”
Sokoto in the statement challenged the Sokoto PDP to question what it called continued waste of public funds to organize the Transformation Ambassadors Nigeria (TAN) rallies.
“The state chapter of PDP should have questioned the continued waste of the country’s resources through jamborees being organized by Transformation Ambassadors Nigeria (TAN) to mobilize support for president Jonathan’s reelection,” Sokoto stated.
Referring to the TAN rallies, which are in favour of president. Jonathan as “state-sponsored,” APC also drew PDP’s attention to former governor Bafarawa’s alleged state sponsorship of the nationwide campaigns of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP).
“It appears that the present state chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Ibrahim Milgoma has forgotten how his boss, former governor Attahiru Bafarawa arrogantly used the state resources to create and sponsor the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) nationwide,” APC claimed.
It added that the accusation by the PDP clearly shows its weakness to face the APC, “which is ready to wrestle power from the PDP come 2015.
“The PDP should know that governor Aliyu Wamakko is a disciplined and transparent leader who will not use state funds at the detriment of the electorate.”
