The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Niger Sector Command, has confirmed the death of one person in an accident that occurred on Bida/Minna road on Wednesday.
Mr Musa Mohammed, the sector commander in the state, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna that one other person sustained various degrees of injury.
He said that the lone accident, which occurred before Eid praying ground in Bida town, involved a Volkswagen with no registration number.
“Two people were involved in the mishap; one killed, one sustained injuries and taken to Federal Medical Centre, Bida for treatment,” he said.
The sector commander blamed the accident on brake failure and speed violation leading to loss of control.
Mohammed advised motorists to exercise caution and adhere strictly to speed limits to avoid crashes.
He said that the corps would continue to monitor road users to guard against dangerous driving. (NAN)
