Suspected armed bandits have killed 26 people at Gandi in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto state.
It would be recalled that 30 people were, last year, killed in a similar attack in the same district.
The attacks which took place Sunday evening in Warwana, Tabkin Kwasa and Dutsi villages had 24 males and four females as victims.
An eye witness confirmed to newsmen that the bandits came on 25 motorcycles with three people on each and started attacking members of the communities at about 5pm.
The Commissioner of Police, Murtala Mani said they deployed men and officers to the area to join the teams of army, police and Civil Defence Corps.

cancels rally, condoles with victims
Governor Aminu Tambuwal who
cancelled his campaign rally to condole with the community described the attack
as the highest level of inhumanity against man.
He called on the people in the community to cooperate with the security agencies by reporting any pending attacks.
He promised to support those that were displaced by the attack while in the camp.
