Students of University of Jos today took to the streets in protest against the stabbing of two of their mates .Newsdiaryonline learnt that two students of the university were stabbed Monday evening by unknown persons.
The protest by the students led to what has been described as confrontation between security agents and the students ;but a correspondent said there was no loss of life.
Equally, Newsdiaryonline learnt that one of those stabbed, a female student is still on admission at the Jos University Teaching Hospital ,JUTH.
”The male victim has been treated and discharged as his injury was described as not as serious as that of the female student.The male student actually was stabbed as he tried to rescue the girl from the attackers’’ a correspondent said.
Plateau state is sadly now a hotbed of ethno-religious violence .And there is a seemingly relentless tension in spite of heavy security presence and the partial state of emergency in the state. The recent bomb blasts in two churches have heightened anxiety in the city.
