Rear Adm. David Adeniran, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Calabar, has performed the ground breaking ceremony of a 300 bed hostel accommodation at the Naval Secondary School in Port Harcourt.
Adeniran said that the objective of the project was to provide more accommodation for male students in the school.
According to him, the demand for Navy secondary school education is high, hence the need to provide accommodation for the students.
“This ground breaking project signifies the beginning of a 300 bed hostel accommodation for male students of the Nigerian Navy Secondary School. All things been equal, the project is expected to be completed by the second term of 2019.
“We have capable architects who have given us a good design for the project. The school is safe and well secured. The Navy is always at its best to give quality education to the students,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Commander Ibrahim Anka, the Commandant Nigerian Navy Secondary School Borokiri Port Harcourt commended the Naval authority and the FOC in particular for the success of the ground breaking ceremony.
Anka said that the ground breaking of the building had been a long awaited project due to the pressure in the demand of the accommodation for boys hostel.
He said that Nigerian Navy had provided accommodation for more than 500 students in the school; but the rise in the number of students in the school call for the demand for more accommodation.
He thanked the FOC and Nigerian Navy Authority for it’s gesture to provide accommodation for the students. (NAN)
