Three men on Tuesday appeared in Magistrates’ Court in Badagry, Lagos, over alleged rape of a 21-year-old woman.
The police charged Emmanuel Adejo, 30; Mathew Joseph,35; Samson Emmanuel,24; who have no fixed addresses, with rape, assault and threat with dangerous weapon.
The Prosecution counsel, ASP Clement Okuiomose, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Aug.22, at about 5 p.m, at No 20, Olawale Str., New Site, Iba area of Lagos State.
Okuiomose alleged that the defendants raped the victim, who is also the complainant.
He alleged that the defendant also assaulted and injured a stander-by, Obinna Friday.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 260, 261 and 273 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Lazaru Hotepo, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N300, 000 each with two sureties each n like sum.
He adjourned the case until Sept.21, for mention. (NAN)
