Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Enugu chapter, on Thursday, defeated their hard fighting counterpart from Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) 3-2 to mark law week in Enugu.
Onyekachi Agbo of NBA scored brace in the 8th and 20th minute as Rangers Team Manager, Amobi Ezeaku, made it 3-0 before the interval.
The game witnessed lots of changes after the interval but JUSUN changed tactics which yielded results in 75th and 81st minute as Ikechukwu Onwe and Izuchukwu Onuoha reduced the tally.
Ezeaku, the Rangers Team Manager, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after the match that he was happy to be involved in the game and for scoring a goal.
He said “I feel exited to represent my noble profession in a novelty match and I feel honoured that my name was on the score list.
“This showed the bond within the Bar Association; it showed brotherhood and also showed that lawyers do other things.
“You saw the calibre of game we played today; though we were not fit, we used experience.”
JUSUN Skipper, Chinedu Mba, said he felt happy as the game was the team’s first outing, adding that “NBA invited us for the match and we tried our best.
“This showed the extent of cordial relationship between NBA and JUSUN.”
He noted that JUSUN members in Enugu would start training in respect of the annual Chief Justice of States (CJS) Cup.
“We have to work harder; though we lost 3-2, I want to say that if today is NBA’s day, tomorrow may be ours.” (NAN)
