Wamakko urges for sustainable peace, unity in Nigeria

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has urged Nigerians to continue to ensure sustainable peace and unity of Nigeria, irrespective of any religious, ethnic or cultural differences.
A statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani on Monday said the Senator spoke when members of Yoruba Community, as well as the Katsina State Indigenes Association, paid him courtesy calls .
Wamakko stated that God had not made mistake by creating Nigerians with diverse religious, cultural and ethnic differences, adding that such differences were meant to further unite them and not to disunite them.
While calling on Nigerians to continue to be patriotic as well as show love and respect to one another, he commended members of Yoruba Community and Katsina association for contributing to peace, unity and socioeconomic development of the state and Nigeria in general.
Speaking earlier, the Sarkin Yorubawa of Sokoto State, Alhaji Abdulfatai Coker and the President-General of the Yoruba Community, Mr James Tolorun commended Wamakko for being a worthy father to them for several decades.
On his part, the Chairman of the Sokoto State Chapter of Katsina State Indigenes Association, Alhaji Aliyu Daura hailed Wamakko for his sustained support to it.
Members of the two groups also pledged to continue to make Sokoto State their second home as well as work to ensure peace and unity of the state and Nigeria in general.
Meanwhile, Senator Wamakko has promised to provide employment opportunities and bursary awards to members of the Kungiyar Sarkin Yakin Matasan Nakasari.
