The University of Ilorin Alumni Association,FCT chapter better known among members as the FCT Capitol Assembly will hold its 2018 reunion on Saturday, December 8. A press release signed by Ridwan Olalekan Abdullahi said the event will hold by the pool side of the BMT Gardens, Wuse II, Abuja.
According to the press release, Barr. Olusegun Adekunle,Permanent Secretary, General Services in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGOF) who doubles as the Abuja Chapter Chairman of the alumni association, said this year’s reunion will have only one awardee unlike in the past.
Mr. Adekunle, further confirmed that Prof. Olu Obafemi, literary icon, poet, scholar and sole winner of the 2018 Nigerian National Order of Merit (NNOM) Humanities Category will be specially recognized and honoured at this epoch making event.
Guests from within and outside the University of Ilorin community are also expected at this occasion including distinguished alumnus and former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, National President of the alumni association; Dr Rhoda Oduwaiye, DG, Consumer Protection Council; Barr. Tunde Irukera as well as renowned actor Barr. Tunji Bamisigbin amongst others.
The yearly event serves as homecoming for every alumnus of the University of Ilorin in the FCT and its environs.
