The Executive Chairman of Qua’an-Pan Local Government Council of Plateau, Mr Ernest Daa, has sworn in the newly appointed supervisory councilors, special advisers and special assistants.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Stephen Sarki, Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the chairman on Friday in Jos.
Daa while inaugurating the appointees said the appointments were informed by the need to transform the council.
The chairman told the appointees that the major objective of his administration was to bring about development and improve the well-being of the people of the area.
“Therefore, it will not be business as usual and you must bring your wealth of experience to bear to justify the trust and confidence reposed in you,” he said.
The immediate past Chief of Staff to Gov. Simon Lalong, Chief John Dafaan advised the appointees to work tirelessly to add value that would put the council on the path of glory.
Dafaan advised the appointees to understand the vision and mission of the chairman and work closely with him to actualise them.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the Supervisory Councillor on Health, Mr Jonas Dasok, assured the chairman of their cooperation and support.
Dasok said that they would bring meaningful ideas aimed at achieving people-oriented development across the wards of the council.
Those sworn in as supervisory councillors were; Jonas Dasok, Health; Chindo Ja’afaru, Works; Simon Dangwam, Water Sanitation Hygiene, Rita Buba, Social Services and Rislan Baba, Agriculture and Natural Resources.
The Deputy Chairman of the Council, Mrs Helen Wapmuk, doubles as Supervisory Councillor on Education.
The four special advisers sworn in were; Stephen Sarki; Media and Public Affairs; John Dalan, Political and Community Relations; Joseph Datugun, Revenue Mobilisation and Sylvanus Dapiannaan, Rural Affairs. (NAN)
