The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy to partly cloudy weather conditions and localised thunderstorms over most parts of the country on Sunday with prospects of rain showers over some parts.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Saturday in Abuja predicted cloudy morning over the central states with prospects of thunderstorms over Kaduna, Niger, Kwara, Kogi, Abuja, Nasarawa and parts of Benue.
It also predicted partly cloudy to cloudy weather and localised thunderstorms over Mambilla Plateau, Ibi, Jalingo and Yola with day and night temperatures of 29 to 38 and 18 to 29 degrees Celsius.
The agency predicted that northern states would experience partly cloudy morning with chances of thunderstorms over places like Bauchi, Kebbi, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano and Borno.
It further predicted dry thundery activities over Yelwa, Borno and Southern Kano later in the day with day and night temperatures of 38 to 40 and 25 to 29 degrees Celsius.
According to NiMet, states in the southern region will experience localised thunderstorms morning over the coast and South East inland with cloudy and rain showers over Oyo, Ondo and Ekiti.
“In the afternoon and evening period, there are chances of scattered thunderstorms over the coast and South West inland and localised rain showers over the South East inland with day and night temperatures of 30 to 34 and 20 to 26 degrees Celsius.
“The consistent influx of moisture into the country gives chances of thunderstorms and rains over most parts of the country within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
