(Press Release)As October 20th Ondo State governorship election is drawing nearer, the Osun State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has organized a special prayer for re-election bid of Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko where no fewer than one thousand members of the party in the State were in attendance.
The Inter-Religious service prayer was held at the State Party secretariat along Alekuwodo, beside Sky Bank, Osogbo , the State capital at the weekend, Pastor Ajewole Aduralere and Mallam Waheed Solagbade led the Christian and Muslim prayers respectively and they prayed to Almighty God to give the party in Ondo State the victory of the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Addressing the party’s members after the prayer session, the State Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the party, Chief Daniel Bankole Afilaka urged them to continue pray in their various homes for the victory of the party’s candidate (MImiko) in Ondo State during the election, assuring that Governor Mimiko will win the October 14th governorship election.
Chief Afilaka maintained that no fewer than sixty seven (67) projects were commissioned by Governor Mimiko to mark his one year in office as governor of Ondo State, urging the people of the state to move to Ondo state so as to know the level of development Mimiko’s government brought to the State in almost four years.
Afilaka called on the members of the party in the State to be steadfast in the propagation of the party, noted that the party will take over the reign of power from Governor Rauf Aregbesola in 2014, saying that the new caretaker committee of the party has making effort to correct the
impression created by the present administration in State that there was no opposition, added that the Labour Party(LP) in the state is one of the formidable oppositions that is ready to put the Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola government on its toes through constructive criticism.
He further stressed that since inception of the present administration in the State for almost two years, no development has been recorded across in the state.
Also speaking, the party secretary, Honourable Segun Arogundade also maintained that Governor Mimiko has really performed in Ondo state which it would give him the second term bid, added that Mimiko’s works will speak for him, commending him for not joining the campaign of calumny.
In another related development, a chief of the party in the State, Mr Olayiwola Olagunju noted that members of the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have concluded to join party across the local government areas of the State, urging the party members to work for development, progress and growth of the party ahead of any election
in the State. He then commended the members of the caretaker committee of the party for their effort for the upliftment of the party, praying for the success of the committee and the party.
