A Naval helicopter conveying some prominent Nigerians has crashed in the creeks of Bayelsa in oil rich Niger Delta region.Highly placed sources told Newsdiaryonline.com that there were fears that Governor Ibrahim Yakowa of Kaduna state and former National Security Adviser,General Owoye Azazi among others may have been killed in the crash as there were reports that none of those aboard the plane survived.
There has however not been any official confirmation at the time of writing this story.Newsdiaryonline .com learnt that the top dignitaries were returning from Nembe town in Bayelsa state after the burial of the father of Oronto Douglas,an aide to President Goodluck Jonathan.
A witness in Nembe said there were in deed very prominent Nigerians at the burial and it was difficult to immediately ascertain who was aboard the plane along with those identified so far.
