The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Monday released the timetable for the recall of Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West Senatorial District.
Melaye and Governor Yahaya Bello have become sworn political enemies, a feud that is believed to have fueled the recall process against the Senator. And the recall set in place at the state level has culminated in the submission of the petition at INEC headquarters by some youths from Melaye’s constituency
Addressing the issue Monday, Secretary of the commission , Mrs Augusta C.Ogakwu, who signed the statement announcing release of the time table Monday said “In exercise of the power conferred on the Independent National Electoral Commission( “the Commssion”) by Section 69 and 110 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,1999(as amended); Section 116 of the Electoral, Act 2010 (as amended) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the Commission hereby issues this timetable and schedule of activities for the recall of the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Kogi state(see the timetable in the tweet below:

Mrs Ogakwu noted that the commission shall issue the timetable and schedule of activities for the conduct of referendum subject to the outcome of the verification exercise.
