The Director-General (D-G) of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Mr Asishana Okauru, has empowered about 20 youths with photography skill in Igarra, Akoko-Edo in Edo.
Okauru said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the programme was to give back to the society as part of activities to celebrate his 60th birthday anniversary.
According to him, the empowerment programme included a three-day theoretical and practical training in photography which held from Jan. 6 to Jan. 8.
He said that the youths were taught the rudiments of photography and had some practical sessions to arouse their interests in photography.
He said that the training was facilitated by award-winning photographer and foremost Nikon Photography School Instructor, Mr Paul Odijie.
Okauru told NAN that he (Okauru) donated two Canon cameras to the youths who formed an online group supervised by Odijie.
He added that the cameras would be rotated among the youths for continuous practice and mentorship by the instructor.
“I look forward to the growth of the youths from beginners to intermediate and then to advanced level photographers within a year,” he said. (NAN)
