The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj Gen AB Abubakar on Thursday visited the 13 Brigade Calabar and inspected the renovated soldiers living accommodation, newly replaced blown off roofs, NDDC erosion control work at the Golf Section and the emerging massive erosion sites in 146 Battalion Calabar.
Abubakar also interacted with troops and the local Commander Maj A Mohammed at Ikang border post/Ikang Jetty in Bakassi local government area of Cross River State.
“There is the recurrent need for vigilance, alertness and decisive action as well as coordination/synergy among all the security agencies such as the Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service and the Nigeria Police Force deployed to this area,” he said
At the headquarters of the 13 Brigade, Abubakar commissioned several other projects.
At the occasion were the Director of State Security, Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Commanders of the Amphibious Training School, 306 Airlift Group and Naval Commander as well as the representative of the Commissioner of Police, Cross River State.
